Retention & Premium Finance Representative


What is the opportunity?


Retention & Premium Finance Representative, you will work within the Client Care team to provide customer support to policyholders with outstanding payments.

You will provide exceptional customer service while addressing customers' inquiries or concerns about their outstanding balances and payment options. You will also take on complex situations arising from policyholders and will negotiate effective resolutions. Effective communication is crucial in this role to ensure the utmost customer service and internal team cohesion. This is a one-year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.


What will you do?

  • Conduct outbound calls to customers with outstanding payments to remind them of their dues and facilitate timely payments in a friendly manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while addressing customers' inquiries or concerns regarding their outstanding balances and payment options.
  • Build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional and empathetic communication.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and offer solutions to facilitate successful payment resolutions.
  • Update customer accounts accurately and record details of payment arrangements, promises to pay, and other pertinent information in the CRM system.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external finance companies, as needed, to resolve paymentrelated issues and ensure accurate account reconciliation.
  • Provide outstanding experiences to assist with client retention.
  • Complete some administrative tasks, such as sorting and handling mail.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Previous experience in a customer service or call center role focused on payment collections is highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive skills to successfully recover payments from customers.
  • Active listening skills with the ability to guide conversations without judgement.
  • Possess a high level of empathy, patience and understanding and the ability to navigate difficult conversations successfully and professionally.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear and confident speaking voice.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet collections targets.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrate a comfortable and confident demeanour when interacting with both clients and co

  • Display and carry positive energy with the ability to work within a teambased environment.
  • Highlevel attention to detail is essential to this role.
  • Be receptive to coaching and mentoring.
  • Clean criminal record check is required.
  • Level 1 General Insurance license is not required but is an asset.
