Responsibilities:


  • Installation and activation of new HVAC systems
  • Accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels including fundamental knowledge of PLC and/or microprocessors.
  • Independent execution of mechanical inspections using multimeters, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic tools, and specialized equipment
  • Assembly and placement of refrigeration or A/C components like motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors using manual and power tools.
  • Cutting and fitting piping while utilizing welding and brazing devices
  • Setup, diagnosis, and renovation of entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
  • Initiation of HVAC systems and leak testing using testing apparatus.
  • Replenishment of refrigerant into the system. Inspection and adjustment of regulators, calibration of the system, and routine maintenance or servicing
  • Replacement and repair of parts and components in complete refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
  • Experience with Boiler startups considered advantageous.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems and performing maintenance on the HVAC equipment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:


  • Openness to relocate to Whitehorse, Yukon.
  • Possession of an Interprovincial Refrigeration Journeyperson ticket.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC, etc.
  • Preferred background in HVAC/Gas fitting.
  • Ownership of essential tools required for HVAC diagnosis and repair.
  • Sound grasp of contemporary construction practices.
  • Familiarity with construction documents.
  • Holding a valid Class 5 Drivers License and insurability.
  • Understanding of construction expenses and budgets.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety and the ability to collaborate with diverse individuals.
  • Capability to thrive in a team setting.
  • Additional value provided by expertise in Plumbing, Sheet Metal, or Fuel Oil Technician roles.
