The
Institutional Portfolio Operations (IPO) team is a close-knit, energetic group of professionals who directly impact the investment success of individuals, pension funds, foundations, endowments, First Nations, and other institutional clients.

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, the
Manager, (AUM, Billing and Cash Flow) ABC Team will lead, guide, and develop this talented team.

The ABC Team plays a critical role in our firm's and clients' success, making the Manager position both challenging and rewarding.


What You Will Do
-
Team Leadership: As the ABC Manager, you will lead a team of six which includes specialists, analysts, and senior analysts in Vancouver.

The team handles four essential functions:

Alternative Fund Administration: Monitor Alternative Fund Net Asset Value (NAV) strikes, capital calls, and subscriptions/redemptions requests.

AUM Reporting: Administer the AUM Report process, preparing monthly and quarterly reports for Investment Teams, Sales Team, RFP Team, and Upper Management.

Institutional Client Billing: Oversee management fee calculations for over 470 invoices on a quarterly basis.

Institutional Cash Notice Process: Oversee the process where clients send subscription and redemption instructions.

Team Development and Structure: Manage and structure a team of support professionals, including recruitment, training, development, performance management, and conflict resolution.

Process Optimization: Guide the team to analyze critically existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies for process optimization to enhance productivity, reduce risk, and improve quality. Monitor the performance of optimized processes to ensure they meet the desired outcomes.

Policies and Procedures Update and Adherence: Ensure documentation of processes and procedures is up to date, by identifying gaps, and driving and tracking addition of updates to the documentation. Monitor adherence to policies and procedures through oversight and through development of adequate process controls.

Innovation and Implementation: Place innovation at the forefront of process changes, identify automation opportunities to replace manual processing. Plan and monitor start to end implementation.

Risk Awareness: Ensure staff adhere to and fully understand all risk policies and best practice procedures, demonstrating continual risk awareness within our operational scope.

Client and Fund Support: Support new client and fund launches and migrations as they relate to the team.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Liaise with various teams across all Affiliates in the CC&L Financial Group to meet their current and upcoming requirements.

Project Management: Handle projects that impact the team, ensuring effective communication, resource allocation, and timely execution.

What You Bring
-
Financial Knowledge: Three to five years of transferable experience. An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Completion of the CA designation, CFA Program, or MBA is considered an asset. Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Developed knowledge of investment accounts (RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, etc.).

Experience in Leading Teams: Either management experience (including coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, recruiting, training, policy-making, and process design) or a minimum of three years' experience in a back-office or administrative environment in the financial services industry with progressively increased responsibility.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Proven ability to think logically and solve problems effectively. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines.

Curiosity for Learning: Desire to learn processes and improve operational efficiencies.

Excellent Communication Skills: Proven ability to disseminate information effectively to colleagues and key stakeholders, including Chiefs and Managing Directors.
