WRE is hiring a Field Service Technician, with proven electrical field service experience who is interested in relocating to Prince George BC.

What we Offer

Responsibilities:

Working on high, medium, and low voltage power apparatus.
Ability to execute comprehensive testing, commissioning and system analysis of electrical equipment.
Electrical and Protection testing.
Maintenance, repairs, technical reports and technical support.
Mentorship and development of more junior employees.
Operate various types of electrical test equipment such as Doble Power Factor, Insulation & Winding Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Fall of Potential, Breaker Timing, AC / DC Highpot, VLF and Response Analysis (SFRA).
Substation protection and control.
Ensure customer contract compliance, timelines and satisfaction.
Promptly analyze and identify corrective action plans in response to customer needs.
Ensures compliance with applicable local, national, international standards and legislation, as well as customer requirements with regard to safety, employment and environment.

Skills & Experience:

Technological or Electrical Engineering background.
Journeyperson Electrician credentials an asset.
Completion of Electrical Technologist diploma an asset.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License, Class 1 license an asset.
Experience in Protection and Control systems is an asset.
A solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, time management and execution skills.
Proficient in the use of in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Selfmotivated individual with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude a must.
Effective leadership skills required.
Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Solid mechanical aptitude.
Commitment to quality and safety.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Flexible to travel out of town with overnight stays, and work evening and weekends as required.
Overtime as required.
Willing to attend emergency callouts on short notice.
An understanding of Gas in Oil Analysis and the processing of transformer oil.
