Description
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for full accounts payable cycle from setting up employees to distributing T4s. This includes calculating incentive payments, calculating wages, updating the payroll file, reviewing change requests, payroll accounting.

The Payroll Analyst will also be responsible for reconciling payroll accounts, resolving Payroll issues, completing special projects, and general support to the Finance team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Processing Payroll

  • Maintain up to date employee list and accurate wage information.
  • Calculate and track monthly and quarterly incentive payments for sales staff.
  • Create separate payroll files for the group of companies.
  • Calculate allocation of shared payroll costs among different companies.
  • Investigate, resolve, and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Process payroll through the outsourced payroll provider.
  • Prepare Payroll journal entries for financial reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts in the accounting system.
  • Coordinate ROE, and tax forms.
  • Investigate and explain budget variances relating to budgets.
  • Perform audit checks of wages, final payments and contracts.

Reporting Support

  • Provide semimonthly reports to the Finance team on cashflow requirements for Payroll.
  • Request funding from various companies for shared payroll costs.
  • Provide monthly Payroll account reconciliation.
  • Report any and all issues to management as they occur.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • All Payroll processed with 99% accuracy.
  • Payroll accounts reconciled by the 15 of each month for the prior month.
  • Payroll journal entries created by 3rd business day each month for the prior month.
  • Payroll Audits for required samples are completed every month.
  • Budget variances are investigated and corrected/explained by 3rddbusiness day.

CMB TEAM SUPPORT

  • Be familiar with and follow company policies and procedures as established (Employee Handbook, Finance policies and procedures, etc.).
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and company functions.
  • Demonstrate good corporate citizenship qualities with a positive attitude.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPEREINCE:


  • At least 3 years full cycle accounts Payroll experience
  • Certificate or diploma in accounting would be an asset.
  • Payroll certification would be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent, process oriented with an attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic fast
- pace environment.

  • Ability to adapt to change and improve continuously
