Responsibilities:


  • Provide PeopleSoft system production support to various stakeholders within in operational accounting & reporting;
  • Create and maintain consolidated financial reports in PeopleSoft nVision;
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, IT & Business, resolve operational issues and recommend solutions to ensure operational effectiveness;
  • Lead periodic financial systems upgrades, new system implementation and ensure high quality UAT and provide related training and support to financial systems users;
  • Execute routine tasks such as maintenance, periodic access review, service requests;
  • Analyze & report large volume of data and present in a clear & concise manner for decision making;
  • Participate in monthly accounting close;
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders;
  • Support data reconciliation processes between core finance systems;
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and review journal entries completed by other team members;
  • Monitor, review, and control balance sheet account balances for accuracy, including monthly GL account reconciliations for assigned GL accounts;
  • Prepare footnotes and other foot note disclosures for assigned items for inclusion in quarterly SEC filings and IFRS financial statements;
  • Complete and submit Government surveys as assigned;
  • Work on adhoc projects as assigned, identify, initiate, and execute continuous process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of PeopleSoft software (& Experience in building and maintaining Nvision reports) in an assest;
  • Knowledge of Business Objects an asset;

3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance;:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance required;

Accounting designation or equivalent Required (CPA);

  • Sound understanding of fundamental accounting principles under both IFRS & US GAAP Accounting Standards;
  • Quick learner, excellent analytic and presentation skills;
  • Proficiency with the MS

Office Suite:
Excel, PowerPoint;

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization;
  • Team player, able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and customer service orientation;
  • 5 or more years of accounting and financial reporting and analysis experience an asset;
  • General understanding of the automotive industry and business issues affecting Honda an asset;
  • Experience with process improvements, TQM tools and systems implementation projects.
