ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist in Ottawa, Ontario.

If you are an independent, enthusiastic, and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you.

Purchaser shall be responsible for procurement/sourcing requirements for the Northern Ontario region.

Work will include initiating, administrating, negotiating, analyzing, drafting and executing the entire sourcing cycle, including expediting orders, logistics and processing/executing Purchase Orders.

The role is to use expert knowledge to purchase goods and services at the most favorable price for the company, while building and maintain relationships with key suppliers.

The incumbent is an agile learner focused on continuous improvement, quality service delivery and time management. This position will report to the Regional Vice President.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Understand vendor marketplace and market conditions;
Understand and interpret technical specifications and needs of endusers;
Execute daytoday sourcing requests to ensure project plans are met while introducing value;
Ensure appropriate execution and compliance with procurement policies and procedures;
Conduct, analyze and evaluate proposals by comparing costs, specifications, and delivery terms;
Expedite all awarded commitments issued to meet delivery targets and avoid delay;
Identify potential source of supply and conduct suppliers' prequalification assessment;
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective vendors;
Complete contract administration activities;
Participate in various projects related to improving process and customer engagement.
