Analyst and Logistics Support - BC Region (Courtenay)

Service Center Supervisor/ Western Logistics Manager

Job Overview and Responsibilities:
Sample receipt, preparation of supplies and shipping related duties for all clients in support of the Sample Logistics Team. Perform Total Coliforms and E.coli analysis on incoming samples and all related maintenance. This position also includes administrative functions.
Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):
- Greet all clients in a friendly, positive manner
- Receive all external client samples
- Ensure client samples are entered into LIMS and approved in a timely manner according to sample holding time, test code, due date, and/or received date
- Perform Total Coliforms and E.coli analysis on applicable incoming samples and all related test maintenance.
- Ensure results are entered accurately and timely.
- Repack samples and arrange for shipments of all samples to the fixed labs.
- Coordinate with external providers such as courier services and hotshots when required
- Ensure proper daily communication of sample shipments to the fixed labs
- Prepare bottle orders requests and coordinate delivery of bottle orders
- Recognize routine and nonroutine problems and escalate to the Supervisor
- Ensure supply inventories are maintained
- Maintain working area in a clean, safe and an organized manner
- Provide support to the Sample Log In team
- Proactively ensure overall satisfaction of regional client base including communication to project management and supervisor as appropriate
- Work closely with outside sales staff to grow Bureau Veritas's market share with existing and new clients
- Monitor/Calibrate the temperatures of fridges, thermometers and temperature guns
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas' quality systems QA/QC, SOPs and external accreditation requirements.
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas' safety policies.
- All other responsibilities as assigned
Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:
- Experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
- Ability to work independently as well as engage others when required in escalation of concerns to meet the client needs or to best manage client disappointments
- Energetic and keen with a positive attitude who thrives in a fastpaced environment where multitasking, prioritizing and adapting to changes are required
Working Conditions:
- High level of work production in fastpaced lab environment
- Flexible working hours, overtime and shift work
- Changing priorities and balancing workload to meet tight deadlines
- Some lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs) and may involve long periods of standing
- Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment
