Accounts Payable Clerk Role:

Working under the direct supervision of the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk's duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Accounts Payable:

  • Review and post all invoices, bills etc. for multiple office locations as per internal coding practices;
  • Review vendor statements to confirm payment, obtain missing information from vendor;.
  • Complete semimonthly EFT payment runs and prepare necessary manual vendor cheques;
  • Post and pay fixed asset acquisitions, maintenance adjustments and fixed asset disposals;
  • Set up new vendor accounts or make changes as necessary in the vendor master files;

Company Credit Cards:

  • Sort, match, code and post all Visa credit card receipts;
  • Reconcile Visa statements in Accounting Software and post payment;
  • Record and advise cardholders of any missing receipts;
  • Prepare usage agreements and followup on their return;
  • Order new cards, request changes or deletions as requested; and
  • Administer the US Bank program (create internet user groups, new accounts, design statements, and login details).

Miscellaneous:

  • Reconcile direct payment accounts, make adjustments, post payments, set up autopay as necessary;
  • Prepare bank reconciliation reports in Navision (Accounting Software);
  • Post manual cheques from other offices; and
  • Provide copies of receipts to payroll that are to be charged back to an employee.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years' accounting experience, similar role preferred

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated accuracy, neatness and professionalism within a fastpaced environment
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer programs, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
