WHAT YOU WILL DO:


Reporting to the Forestry Supervisor, the Silviculture Forester will be a key specialist of the silviculture team and will work closely with business unit leadership to provide professional guidance, support and expertise related to Forsite's silviculture program.


The Silviculture Forester will be responsible for managing technical aspects of operational silviculture projects, including planting implementation, surveys, prescription development and activity supervision.

The Silviculture Forester will work closely with our industry and government clients to provide project management and technical skills that provide cost effective, innovative, and meaningful solutions and will supervise and mentor Forsite silviculture staff.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Postsecondary education in a relevant discipline;
  • Registered or eligible to be registered as RPF or RFT with the Forest Professionals of British Columbia (FPBC);
  • Silviculture Surveyor Accreditation an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with operational silviculture;
  • Experience managing silviculture databases, RESULTS, and completing electronic silviculture submissions;
  • Knowledge of forest legislation, regulations, guidelines, and accepted practices specific to silviculture; and
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
