Oxford Learning Saskatoon is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre.

This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning
do not have extensive lesson planning before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.


Position Requirements:

Little Readers Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during morning hours, as well as Saturday mornings (9:30am - 12:30pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred.

Continuing through the summer is even better Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.


This role is in-person.
You MUST be a current resident of the greater Saskatoon area
and/or able to commute to this location.

This is not an online position and
sponsorship is not provided. No relocation package is offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourthyear university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching or ECE certification an asset

Experience:


  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at a preschool or early elementary school level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to instruct in French at a primary level would be an asset
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to four students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):


The Little Readers program is an enriched half-day and Saturday morning reading program for children aged - 6 that develops the foundational skills needed to learn and excel.


The Little Readers teachers use proprietary materials to teach students letter names, sounds, phonics, reading, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and fine motor skills.

You will work directly with our younger students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 4 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching inperson
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in postlesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

$15 - $17 / hour to start
