ABOUT THE ROLE:


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Responsible for ensuring the preventative maintenance and calibration of gauges including completing inhouse gauge calibrating or sourcing to suppliers for external calibration.
  • Prepare and maintain production gauge procedures and conduct training for the same as required.
  • Write CMM programs, make program adjustments, and support training of other team members as required.
  • Assist in PPAP including but not limited to gauge studies, dimensional layouts, etc.
  • Conduct part capability studies as required.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to production department.
  • Assist in verification, identification, reporting of nonconforming product and product characteristics.
  • Communicate findings, regarding trends or nonconforming parts or processes to appropriate personnel and participate in corrective action process.
  • Perform receiving, in process and final (dock) audit inspection.
  • Support first/last off inspection process
  • Perform internal audits to applicable standards including customer specifics.
  • Participate in Elimination of Waste team meetings and support the 5S program.
  • Participation in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Complete work assignments in a timely, accurate, and safe manner in accordance with the standards required through the company and/ or applicable Regulations / Legislation
  • Promote the company's operational visions, values, and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, or his/her designate.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Possess working knowledge of Core Tools (MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA)
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
  • Minimum partial completion (50% program) of Mechanical Engineering Diploma or other relevant post secondary certificate program (asset)
  • American Society Quality Engineering Certification (asset)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret blueprint requirements
  • Ability to achieve results / targets through others who are not direct reports
  • Effective interpersonal / communication skills required
  • Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
