    Role Responsibilities

    Are you looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in the area of Epidemiology? Does the idea of contributing to Alberta Health's ability to identify and respond to issues associated with human health pique your interest?     Reporting to the Manager, Population Health Assessment, the Epidemiologist provides expertise in epidemiology, visualization, preparing analytic reports and providing population health assessment guidance as well as advice to stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities of this position includes analyzing, interpreting and summarizing complex population health data while providing context and meaning to data for enabling population health assessment and health-related decision making.

    This position prepares standardized health information products (e.g. statistical tables as well as descriptive and comparative analysis of population demographics, disease prevalence and trends, health status and health system use), supporting Ministry business needs.

    You must have an excellent understanding of health data and databases including approaches and methodologies to link data and limitations of existing databases. You must also ensure reasonable timelines and quality in responding to a variety of information requests for informed business planning, policy development and decision making.
