Provide actuarial and administration servicing support for our Canadian and international clients in the areas of pensions, life insurance, health insurance and social security.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for data analysis, validations, and handling, using Morneau Shepell's internal software/systems
- Performs data reconciliations and benefit / costing calculations
- Preparation of standard pension benefit calculations / statements (retirements, terminations, etc.) in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements
- Assist with other pension plan administration tasks
- Work with databases and Morneau Shepell's internal software/systems
- Prepares data and performs actuarial valuations for pension plans, life insurance companies, corporations, and social security schemes
- Understand and analyze financial statements and actuarial reports for life and general insurers
- Construct worksheets / databases using excel and access to analyze data
- Prepare draft reports on analyses
- Receive and respond to routine enquiries and requests from clients
- Takes direction from, and supports, team members
- Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends
- Assist with special projects, as required
- Become familiar with international regulatory environments legislation and policies
Requirements:
- University degree in actuarial science or mathematics
- Successful completion of at least 3 SOA exams preferred
- Strong competency with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Access
- Familiarity with GGY AXIS considered an asset
- Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong work ethic
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
