Intake Officer

Location:
Métis Nation of Alberta Provincial Office Kingsway NW, Edmonton, AB)

Position Status:
Full Time (40 hrs per week), Permanent


The Organization

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct an initial assessment to ensure that the applicant has all mandatory documents prior to commencing the citizenship intake process.
  • Data capture applicant information into the citizenship database.
  • Receive and scan all documentation that is dropped off.
  • Enter all telephone inquiries into the database for tracking purposes and client information maintenance.
  • Participate in staff meetings and special projects within the department.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

  • Knowledge of Métis culture and history.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous data entry experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Ability to obtain Commissioner of Oaths designation.

Other Requirements

  • Position will be based in Edmonton; inoffice presence will be required.
  • Ability to work office hours of Monday
  • Friday, 8:30 am 4:30 pm.
  • Able to travel throughout Alberta (required) for events and to facilitate Registry sessions. Travel will be up to 25%.
  • Must hold a Valid Class 5 Driver's License and have reliable transportation.
