Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring all GWB's safety and quality standards are met, as well as ensuring employees are following proper policies and procedures of the production shift
Responsible for the management of physical resources, equipment and people
Responsible for overseeing the day to day activities in packaging
Assist in Brewing and Warehouse when required
Work within the terms of the Collective Agreement

Day to day activities in Packaging include;

Assist in building the weekly production plan ensuring most efficient use of time and equipment
Safety training and communication, with direction from Safety Manager, to all employees
Ensures that quality parameters are being met and escalates to Packaging Manager, and QA Manager when there are deviations.
Manpower scheduling, long term and short term (ie vacation planning, sick time coverage planning), as well as payroll auditing
Escalates maintenance issues to maintenance manager and department head.
Work with maintenance to coordinate changeovers and repair down equipment
Weekly safety and procedural audits of employee activities, with emphasis on coaching and employee development
Communicates changes in schedule or procedures with employees
Monitor product flow and availability
Communicate production timing with warehouse
Maintain high standards of Good Manufacturing Procedures and housekeeping in the production facility to ensure a safe work environment

Organizational structure

The Packaging supervisor is a key member of the management team and reports to the Packaging Manager
The Packaging Supervisor must work effectively with all departments within the brewery

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or min 35 years experience supervising in a Food Processing Plant with packaging experience
Ability to plan and execute according to business needs
Solid command of Saskatchewan OHS Regulations
Experience in Food Safety Programs including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Experience overseeing Sanitation Programs in a Food Processing Facility
Experience supervising in a unionized environment
Experience in Scheduling Manpower
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Efficient in Microsoft
