The Shop Supervisor - Transformers will provide operational and technical leadership for the Shop Floor Personnel at our Stoney Creek Service Center.
Your responsibilities
- This fastpaced role requires strong handson supervisory skills, technical skills, team leadership, business acumen and highly effective communication skills to perform some or all of:
- Supervise job execution by shop employees
- Lead evaluation of customer repair work, ensuring accurate, ontime delivery
- Coordinate all aspects of the repair with the Technical Advisor, Service Center Manager, Purchaser, Engineering, and customers
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources and ensure high productivity
- Analyze and recommend cost improvement measures
- Hire, train, direct and manage all hourly shop employees
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve or assist in resolving daily operational issues
- Lead and/or support HSE, Quality and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives
- Define manufacturing strategy, work scope, and sometimes investigate failures at Customer Site or in the Shop
- Provide assistance to LTS and Commercial Teams in the quotation process
- Support Job Planning and work schedule development
- Assist in the preparing of documentation to support quality program
- Identify and promote new service opportunities to enhance business growth
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Diploma as a technologist, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Preferably 5+ years' experience in Transformer repair or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Desired Characteristics

- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment towards customer service
- Ability to adjust priorities based on the service needs and customer impact
- Superior administrative, planning, organizational and followup skills
- Selfstarter and be able to work with a minimum of supervision
- Demonstrated experience as a team player and leading teams
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
- Proficient with computer and software
- MS Office, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Kronos & SAP
