Description
Reporting to the Director - Digital Transformation, the Manager, IT Project Management Office provides leadership and oversight for the execution of all institutional projects with digital/technology aspects.
The incumbent strengthens governance and performance of the growing portfolio of digital projects/programs with institutional scope and ensures alignment with Sheridan's strategic goals and client priorities.
The incumbent leads the development of, and champions, consistent project management frameworks throughout IT and the institution and is responsible for implementing best practices and processes for strategic projects and staff developmentThis includes:
Optimal mix, priority, sequencing, alignment and coordination of projects and related activities
Formal project planning
Management of scope, risk, quality outcomes
Methodologies for defining and monitoring project performance metrics
Resource allocation in consultation with stakeholders
Project monitoring, review and communications (e.g. status updates)
Project evaluation
Mentoring / consultation
What You'll be Doing
Providing leadership and strategic direction to the planning and execution of a large portfolio of active IT projects.
The incumbent is involved in projects across all aspects of the project lifecycle, directly (through direct project leadership) or indirectly (by setting out standards and processes for others to follow), including initiation (business case development, project intake, resource planning), planning (resource planning, project scheduling, etc.), execution, and close out.
Leading Information Technology's Project Services team, comprised of a mix of Project Leads, Business Systems Analysts, and Business Analysts and coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to their fullest potential.
Managing all recruitment and retention activities for the team.
Setting goals and objectives for the team and its members and reporting regularly on team performance to the Director and the IT Leadership team.
Managing the portfolio of IT operational projects through the establishment of departmental practices that ensure the optimal mix of strategic vs operational project prioritization and that IT resources are utilized effectively.
Project Managing initiatives that have a high degree of complexity and/or risk involve to ensure higher likelihood of overall success.
Performing other duties and activities as required.

Must possess a minimum 4-year bachelor's degree or a 3-year diploma/degree with a post graduate certificate in Information Technology, Business Administration or other related fields.
Must possess a Project Management Professional(PMP) Certification or similar equivalent certificationMust possess minimum 9-years experience managing progressively complex IT projects and programs
Must have proven experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to drive project progress
IT Service Management (ITSM) certification, e.g. ITIL v4 Foundation or equivalent is preferred
Agile Project Management certifications, e.g. ACP, SAFe are preferred
