Job Description:

Within this role, the Oracle Database Administrator will perform the following tasks in support of Oracle Enterprise Server and Systems Management, including, but not limited to:

  • The provision of guidance to MCSC team members on applicable techniques as well as existing coding structures in programming and program coding;
  • The responsibility of data transfer to standalone databases such as NOMAD and installations on other networks;
  • The management of the database extraction requirements from all MCSC teams in generating PDF format documents as required by MCSC business owners and promotion of the code in the Oracle DB environments
  • Production, Training, Staging and Integration environments;
  • The management of a server environment of many servers, including OS and patch installation;
  • The investigation of violations of security and reporting of incidents of hacking attempts to the TA;
  • The interfacing with outside agencies on network and server configuration.

Qualifications:


  • Must have a postsecondary education. (i.e. College/CEGEP diploma or University degree)
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator;
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated cumulative experience within the past 5 years as an Oracle database administrator for large organizations (10,000 users with 1000+ concurrent users) managing, supporting, and tuning large production databases.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated cumulative experience within the past 5 years as a system administrator for large organizations (10,000 users with 1000+ concurrent users) providing server and operating system support.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated cumulative experience within the past 5 years managing, and performing backups and restores.
