Job Summary:
**Location: On-site, National Gallery of Canada, 380, Sussex Drive, Ottawa
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment serving visitors from around the world? Do you have a passion for the arts? Are you great on a POS system? The National Gallery of Canada Boutique is currently recruiting a bilingual Customer Service Assistant.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Customer Service Assistant will act as lead cashier and be responsible for a daily restock, ensuring that the demands of a busy retail operation are met.
You will be an integral part of creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed. You must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.Requirements:
- University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Excellent soft skills;
- General knowledge of art history and an interest in the arts;
- Extensive experience within a retail operation using a point of sale system, in customer service and sales, inventory and cash control;
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail, the ability to perform diverse tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work well under pressure;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member within a fastpaced, high demand and constantly changing work environment.
