Position Summary

The Energy and Asset Analyst will support Facilities Management & Construction Services both internally and with the provision of various services to other departments throughout the corporation.

Responsibilities will include asset audits, energy analysis, utility analysis, energy solution recommendations and verification of project results.

A key function of the role will be to create and present facility energy models, energy analysis, utility analysis, and to develop energy conservation measure recommendations that support department and corporate goals.

The Analyst will gather and analyze data, identify gaps and trends, and make recommendations related to baseline performance, as well as established best practices and benchmarks.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessing energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies

Building and technology energy simulation modelling

Supporting external consultants in creating facility energy models and with various energy initiatives

Field performance measurement and data collection of building and commercial process energy systems

Detailed fact finding, research, and analysis of energy-related activities

Assessing new technologies with respect to existing workflows to incorporate solutions and find operational efficiencies

Developing improved strategies for utilities tracking and analysis.

Communicating solutions and new strategies through reports and presentations

A large part of this position will be working within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and updating/validating all city owned facilities utilities accounts for water, sewer, gas and electrical consumption as well as incorporating live metering and tracking with respect to corporate budgets

Assisting in the energy audit program to ensure facilities are audited on a rolling basis, incorporating results into the CMMS and informing updates to the department's energy and asset management plan
Qualifications, Competencies
Graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Energy Systems and/or related discipline

Member of OACETT an asset

Strong data analytics capabilities

Strong interest in energy and asset management

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with energy and financial analysis

Strong utility data analysis ability

Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare, analyze and transmit data

Work in an office environment with the ability to perform some site work as required

Must have valid class 'G' driver's license

A satisfactory criminal record check will be required
