RBC has a world-class payments system capable of meeting the needs of a global economy.

RBC is seeking to hire an experienced Business Consultant who can manage and support both business and system requirements process to deliver in a fast-paced Agile working environment.


What will you do?

  • Define business analysis approach including tasks and deliverables
  • Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates. Analyze and document scope of the business solution using enterprisestandard requirements methodology
  • Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities
  • Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with the impacted stakeholders
  • Translate and articulate business needs, processes and procedures into system requirements by communicating about these requirements with technology teams and business stakeholders.
  • Manage and communicate risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:


  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a Senior Business and Systems analysis role with proven experience with various methodologies such as Iterative waterfall and Agile delivering complex and largescale payment projects
  • Must be able to understand business needs, document business requirements, analyze system interactions and clearly articulate and document endtoend system flows
  • Must have solid understanding of Wires Payment Processing Systems, data mappings and ISO 20022 MX/MT SWIFT messages knowledge.
  • Experience in managing diverse stakeholders, providing clear communications and presenting assessment options
  • Must be able to produce requirements artefacts: Problem Opportunity Analysis, Scope Modelling, Business Process Mapping, Business Context Diagraming, Use Cases & Scenarios, Business Rules & Data Catalogue, User Stories, Story Decomposition, Story Mapping and Requirements traceability

Nice-to-have:


  • Knowledge of Wire Room, Payment Processing (BESS system), Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS/LYNX), Automated Clearing Settlement System (ACSS), Cash and Liquidity Risk Management, Clearing and Settlement process
  • Relevant college, university and/or postgraduate degree in Business Analysis, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certification or Masters Certificate in Business Analysis (MCBA) Certification
  • Agile Training: Certified Scrum Master (CSM or A-CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO or A-CSPO), etc.
