Education
Graduation with an acceptable doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in analytical environmental chemistry, or the employer-approved alternative for the SE classification.
Note:
- The employer-approved alternative for the SE classification is an acceptable master's or bachelor's degree coupled with acceptable research, training and experience. The degree must be from a recognized post-secondary institution and in scientific fields and specialties related to the duties of the position. The training and experience must clearly demonstrate the ability to do personal research of doctoral degree calibre.
Productivity or recognition includes developmental work leading to the issue of patents, copyrights, or the creation of improved varieties, functions, or designs, and/or recognition by the professional community of the research environment.
- Research, experimental development, or tasking associated with operational equipment and problems;
- Operational research and scientific analysis;
- Planning, analysis and evaluation of Canadian and foreign programs in research and development.
EEx1:
Experience in iodine and selenium speciation studies and volatilized iodine quantification.
EEx2:
Experience in metals quantification by ICP-MS/MS and trace elements speciation by HPLC-ICP-MS.
EEx3:
Experience in methods development for the analysis of Ra in environmental samples by ICP-MS/MS.
EEx4:
Experience in metals and organochlorine compounds (PCDD/F, PCB) bioaccumulation studies in soil samples.
EEx5:
Experience in working with a team of researchers and support staff.

Knowledge of iodine and selenium speciation in environmental samples.
EK2:
Knowledge of radium determination in environmental samples by ICP-MS/MS.

Knowledge of polychlorodibenzo-dioxins and -furans sample preparation and analysis.
EK4:
Knowledge of radioprotection principles and methods used in controlled radioactive area.
