H2O Human Resources Generalist


The Human Resources Generalist will further be responsible for supporting the operational and strategic objectives of the organization by utilizing their skills and knowledge in many functional areas of Human Resources, including but not limited to; employee and labor relations, ESA compliance, human resources programs, recruitment and selection, organizational development, writing/updating job descriptions, writing /updating policies and procedures, training, health and safety and performance management.

The Human Resources Generalist will play an integral role in promoting and strengthening a culture where health, safety, quality, and risk management are important elements of everyday work life and focus on a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.


Key responsibilities

Hiring, Recruitment, and Termination

  • Design and implement recruitment strategies on a quarterly basis to ensure a proactive approach to recruitment per contractual obligations
  • Maintain recruitment strategies to ensure that projects are fully staffed
  • Maintain and engage a general talent pool to ensure proactive approaches to hiring
  • In conjunction with marketing team members, maintain job ads on a biweekly basis to ensure that they are reaching required talent
  • Onboard employees
  • Track and document employee discipline on an as needed basis in conjunction with the employee's direct supervisor
  • Process employee termination per employee termination checklist

Administration, Payroll and Finance

  • On an annual basis update pay scales per costofliving increases as directed by the CFO
  • Submit paysheet to the General Manager for approval on a biweekly basis
  • Reconcile Visa statements monthly
  • Create and maintain an FAQ sheet for employees to refer to; answer any questions from frontline employees on an asneeded basis
  • Update statics on hiring trends for informed analyses on hiring strategies

Policy Analysis, Health and Safety, and Training

  • Perform quarterly reviews of employee policies and submit recommendation on changes
  • Submit WSIB and CNESST claims as necessary
  • Ensure employees are trained and receive mandated health and safety trainings such as WHIMS or otherwise required for their position
  • Track employee qualification expiry dates as required by their position
  • Ensure WSIB and CNESST compliance

Qualifications

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field from a recognized postsecondary institution or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience in a human resources environment
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • Excellent administrative and records management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with computers and the use of various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and ADP
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills

Salary:
$47,000.00-$69,200.00 per year
