Your day-to-day
- Operate the hydroelectric power plants by way of conducting and documenting all regular monitoring and maintenance;
- Carry out all actions required to optimize the output and production of the power plants;
- Participate in the setup and monitoring of a Preventative Maintenance program for plant and facilities equipment including the electrical and mechanical testing and repair of equipment;
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings;
- Carry out all necessary actions for the troubleshooting and resolution of alarms generated by the hydroelectric power plants in order to minimize downtime (availability 24 hours a day) when on duty;
- Perform and/or assist any specialized contractors needed to perform maintenance and repairs for the power plants;
- Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety standards of WSIB standards and Innergex, and
- Adhere to a variable work scheduled and reside at the Innergex residence while at the facility.
Your skills, our requirements
- Professional degree in electromechanical, mechanical or electrical
- 5 to 7 years of relevant or equivalent training and experience to the role, experience as a Journeyman Electrician or Millwright is preferred;
- Possess a driver's license in good standing as well as a general appreciation for outdoors, and
- Experience with heavy equipment operations.
Additional considerations
- The position is based at our Batawa and Glen Miller facility.
- This position is a O4 level.
- We may ask you to be available outside of your work schedule to respond to plant emergencies.
