Job Summary
What is the opportunity?
You will join the growing Responsible Investing team within RBC Wealth Management's Global Investments group.
With offices in the US, Canada, the UK, and Asia, the Investments team supports RBC's Wealth Management's client-facing Advisors globally in all matters relating to portfolio construction, security selection, and the provision of timely market insights.
It also is responsible for a rapidly growing suite of discretionary investment management mandates.The Responsible Investing team assists with implementation, evaluation, education, and thought leadership relating to RBC WM's responsible investing and ESG efforts.
Critical to the team's success is building relationships with individuals both internal and external to RBC, including partnerships with advisors, investment management teams, and stakeholders within the business.
What will you do?
- Support RBC WM's efforts to grow its capabilities in Responsible Investing through education, thought leadership, and the development of marketing collateral.
- Partner with Training, Marketing, and internal Wealth Management Consulting teams to develop competency and foster a culture of embracing and advocating RI amongst RBC WM Financial Advisors.
- Interact with RBC advisors on a daytoday basis on questions surrounding responsible investing and ESG concepts.
- Author thought leadership pieces on responsible investing, ranging from quarterly commentaries, research pieces, and timely market insights utilizing a wide range of media in collaboration with compliance and publishing partners.
- Collaborate with Global Investment teams as they seek to deepen the integration of ESG data into their investment processes. As part of the process, look for opportunities to glean learnings and insights to share with clients and advisors.
- Understand and utilize ESG data from various ESG data providers on several different investment types.
- Collect, measure, and monitor internal and external data on asset growth, investment trends, and client adoption. Utilize this data to report activity up to senior individuals throughout the firm.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in related field
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets
- Basic understanding and desire to learn more about ESG and responsible investing
- Passionate about diversity, inclusion, culture, and associate engagement
- An entrepreneurial mindset intent on adding value above and beyond specific assigned tasks
- Must be self‐motivated and able to work autonomously
- Ability to collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders and identify which tasks need priority
Nice to Have
years of experience working in the Responsible Investing, ESG, impact, or sustainable investing space
- Good understanding of financial services and the investment process
What is the opportunity?
As part of the RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) IT Risk team, you will contribute to the development of the IT Risk Program for RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) and establish the principles and standards to meet the short-term and long-term goals of the organization.
Please Note:
This is a 1 year contract opportunity
What will you do?
- Ensure GAM has a controlled and secure technology environment, understand control gaps and implement realistic action plans.
- Educate business and technology teams on importance of control strategies and frameworks.
- Provide leadership within the team, identifying work priorities and ensuring effective communication among team members and with external partners/stakeholders
- Determine, recommend, negotiate and manage necessary changes to policies, standards and procedures.
- Liaise with project managers to ensure appropriate controls are considered when gap is identified.
- Coordinate IT Risk related projects with various stakeholders.
- Perform Access Review and identify gaps in the access management process.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Strong understanding of IT risk concepts, analytics and frameworks
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong leadership, influencing and negotiating skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
- A degree in information technology, computer science, business or finance, plus 5 years Financial Industry related experience.
- Related IT Risk professional designation such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or Security +
- Strong knowledge with ServiceNow, Archer GRC, and PowerShell
- Proven project management skills such as PMP or Prince2
