Job Overview:


Under the direction of the Dining Services Manager, the Dining Services Lead Hand is responsible for the staffing and daily operation of the Restaurants and Concessions.


Responsibilities:

Operational Support

  • Working with the Dining Services Manager and other members of the Food Services team, plans and implements standards and best practices to ensure exceptional customer service and to optimize facilities and resources in both new and existing restaurants and concessions
  • Provides thorough orientation and training to all staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively
  • Promotes a positive work environment and enforces high standards of customer service on an ongoing basis
  • Liaises between Servers and Culinary team to ensure clear communication and maximum efficiency
  • Directs staff in accordance with optimum food preparation and service guidelines and enforces safe food handling procedures in accordance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) standards
  • Supervises cash handling techniques and ensures that all Park procedures are adhered to
  • Organizes daily workload and delegation of work assignments, ensuring smooth operations and workflow
  • Schedules all staff according to projected staff needs, and adjusts to actual needs on a daytoday basis
  • Prepares weekly payroll timesheets and ensures they are submitted promptly for employee pay
  • Regularly monitors employee performance to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for development, involving Dining Services Manager in feedback delivery and conversations
  • Monitors all equipment operations and arranges for necessary maintenance, repair, or replacement (e.g. coke products etc., reporting to Dining Services Manager
  • Prepares outlets and equipment for seasonal opening and closing, ensuring they are properly cleaned daily
  • Oversees ordering, storage and distribution of food and related products, ensuring stock levels are met
  • Arranges for product and equipment for auxiliary concession stands as needed
  • Conducts monthly inventory counts, ensuring that the physical counts match the records on file
  • Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers, using polite greetings, actively acknowledging guests, and handling situations positively
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors with a customerfocused approach, providing courteous and friendly answers to inquiries and valuable information to enhance the overall visitor experience

  • Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the Park
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting workrelated incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy

Required Qualifications:


  • Completion of secondary school education is required. Postsecondary education in a related field (such as Hospitality and Tourism) is an asset
  • Minimum 2 years' prior experience in a related role in the Food Services/Hospitality industry is required; experience in Food Services at Heritage Park is preferred
  • Possession of ProServe certification is required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Attention to detail to accurately take orders and fulfil guest requests
