About the Opportunity
Summary
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for internal and external stake holders for our organization.
This will include:
- Lead monthly balance sheet reconciliation, along with other team members.
- Prepare monthly variance reports for various departments & programs and discuss program related reports with Managers of those programs on monthly basis.
- Assist with department budget preparation.
- Provide training and guidance to program staff regarding completing finance reports.
- Input information for preparation of and updates to annual operating and capital budgets.
- Preparation of periodic financial accountability reports to funders as assigned by the Controller and CFO.
- Working with Auditors to perform yearly audits, provide working paper backup for financial statements like bank reconciliations, Revenue etc., and provide backups for sample selections with help of Accounting & Payroll team.
- Input information for the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Preparation of tax remittances.
- Preparation of cash flow projections on weekly basis.
- Preparation of month end entries, recurring entries, and cost allocations in various programs on monthly basis.
- Update accounting system for the budget during the year with updates on funds/programs throughout the year & responsible for data integrity in accounting system.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required by CFO, Controller, and other senior management of The Link.
- Provide technical support and training on accounting systems to staff in the Accounting and/or Payroll Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adherence to internal financial policies.
Qualifications:
years of working experience in financial reporting discipline with an extensive background working in accounting/finance roles as Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst or Finance Manager.
- Exposure to a 'Not for Profit' is an asset.
- Welldeveloped planning, organizational, and timemanagement skills, and able to handle competing priorities, and a consistent record of meeting deadlines.
- Enjoy working in a fastpaced environment & unquestionable integrity and maturity.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, including experience with diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, but able to see the "big picture"
- Analytical and curious, able to identify problem areas, research, develop, and implement solutions.
- Technology savvy and has experience with Software (e.g., Sage 300, Payworks, Vivid, Microsoft Excel).
- Customer service oriented and solution focused.
- The individual has a genuine passion for their profession and a love for giving back to their community.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- A graduate degree in Business Commerce or equivalent is essential. A professional accounting designation, CPA or equivalent experience would be an asset.
