Summary


The Mechanical Design Technician will be responsible for the development and preparation of air, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics using Creo (ProE) and ensuring that schematics conform to regulations, trailer specifications and design data.

The Technician will be responsible for designing, recording, improving and maintaining the air, pneumatic and hydraulic systems schematics of our trailers.

Job Duties

  • Create detailed air, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics for custom trailers using Pro-E and AutoCAD software.
  • Incorporate completed Schematics in the Creo/Pro-E models
  • Update and revise current schematics through engineering change procedures
  • Interact with production personnel on drawing and design related issues
  • Interact with Purchasing department to source parts.
  • Check and verify schematics to conform to DOT regulations, customer specifications and design data.
  • Interact with QC to ensure systems function in a safe and stable manner.
  • Respond quickly to the shop floor's needs in response to addressing issues that may surface during production.

Requirements:


  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technician
  • Training and/or experience with Creo (Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire), AutoCAD and Windchill PDMLink (or other Part Data Management software) a definite asset
  • At least 2 years' experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of, or experience with trailer design would be an asset
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills and positive team attitude.
Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects may be required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid driver's license

Regular hours are 6:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am to 12 noon on Friday
