Currently, we are looking for a responsible and motivated team member in the role of Inside Sales Engineer in our Mississauga office.

_Duties & Responsibilities:
_


  • Establish, Maintain and update operator standard work instructions, process specifications, process flow charts, process control plans, machine setup instructions, and process FMEA's. Develop and review work procedures for all process related functions, i.e. operators, setup, material handling, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate efficiencies by comparing process standards such as labour hours, machine cycle time to actual production values and report proposed improvement recommendations with timing to Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Initiate continuous improvement activities for cycle time reduction, direct labour reduction, alternative materials and scrap reduction for products assigned.
  • Improve the quality of the end product by developing and implementing foolproofing methods to prevent the manufacture of defects.
  • Notify the General Manager/Manufacturing Engineering Manager of incapable processes/products.
  • Prepare capital justifications for new production equipment, and ongoing improvements.
  • Investigate and implement production method changes to improve productivity on a continuing basis.
  • Act as technical contact for vendors.
  • Actively participate in advanced product quality planning with regards to manufacturing processes i.e. workcell layout, KPC selection, preventable maintenance schedules etc.
  • Lead the team in mistake proofing of potential process concerns. Initiate Engineering change request for all proposed process changes. File all process related documentation.
  • Assist with inhouse training programs for fabrication, welding & assembly personnel to learn new production parts and processes.
  • Assist developing plans/schedules for preventative and predictive maintenance of process equipment.
  • Ensure the implementation of new production processes and follow up until process capability is achieved.
  • Arrange with the involvement of production managers sourcing of replacement production tooling, testing equipment, check fixtures and prototypes when required, and followup with same.
  • Responsible for keeping plant personnel informed of quality, process and general product related issues for products assigned through plant information boards.
  • Ensure that all processing methods and equipment meet all health and safety requirements.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

_Qualifications:
_


  • Postsecondary degree in Engineering or equivalent.

_Required Skills:
_


  • Minimum of two years (2) of manufacturing experience.
  • Handson continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Understanding of foolproof jigs/fixtures, assembly /welding machines.
  • Complete understanding of QMS procedures for process control, manufacturing capabilities and quality assurance and related forms and labels.

  • Assist in establishing quality control plans according to stand work procedures.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product, process or quality system nonconformance.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation or nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfacto
