Photo Editor, you will be responsible for enhancing, retouching, and optimizing a variety of images to ensure they meet the Article's brand standards.


This position will be a 6-month term of employment starting in January.

About Our Team


This role is Hybrud and you will be required to be in the office 3 days a week to attend meetings and view samples in our Vancouver headquarters.

What You'll Do:


  • Edit photography assets and complete image requests weekly
  • Retrieve and store images on Google Drive, ADAM, ALPHA/ BRAVO
  • Follow best practices for file naming conventions when creating and editing assets
  • Contribute to the organization of files stored across Google Drive, the server, and ADAM
  • Perform weekly downloads from Pixelz and archive assets on the Google Shared drive
  • Upload edited files to Slack, Megamind, Gallery, Milanote, Google Drive, Server, and ADAM where applicable
  • Prepare assets for Freelance Editors to work
  • Participate in weekly CMA Debrief meetings to discuss any notes relevant to upcoming editing tasks.
  • Upload CMA Assets to Slack channel for the first round of revisions
  • Ensure proper file naming conventions are used and upload completed assets to the appropriate locations
  • Participate in monthly reviews of CMA final assets with the production team to discuss wins and ops. Meeting is led by the Art Director
  • Review CGI assets in Milanote and Wrike to check they adhere to current best practices
  • Review CGI assets within the Archiver program to check for accuracy and consistency in accordance with our white background photography best practices
  • Uploading CGI imagery to Megamind and posting in #photosandproducts slack channel to be reviewed

Who You Are:


  • You will work closely with multiple team members across production and creative to provide edited photos for brief specific projects
  • You are responsible for maintaining proper file naming, storing, and organization of images across our various platforms
  • Maintain quality and consistency of editing across all projects, follow the best practices and art direction set out by the brand creative and ecommerce teams
  • Work well with crossfunctional teams to find assets and export to Hi RES format
  • Good communication bandwidth for issues or constraints to the Senior Photo Editor
  • Good communication with freelance editors to answer questions or help troubleshoot problems when necessary
  • You love working in a collaborative creative environment
  • You can demonstrate a high level of detail and accuracy within your work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically with Photoshop processes such as product cutouts, color matching, retouching, compositing, and color reproduction
  • Experience with product and stilllife retouching is essential
  • Responsible for responding to feedback and adjusting images as needed
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Completion of criminal background check

The expected salary is $ 60,000 to $ 65,000.

The actual base pay can increase beyond this range and will be based on various factors, including transferable skills, training and certifications, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
