MacEwan University has a long-standing history of providing quality nursing education that prepares graduates to lead and succeed in nursing practice and beyond.

As a place-based institution, faculty are involved in crafting engaged learning environments that help students achieve their full potential through innovative learning modalities that emphasize the importance of connection.

The Faculty of Nursing is organized into five departments.

Courses delivered within each of these departments are affiliated with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing, the Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing and other continuing education credentials and learning experiences.


The Department of Nursing Foundations offers courses related to the foundational principles of Nursing, which form the basis upon which strong practice experience and solid understanding are built.

The Department of Professional Nursing and Allied Health provides opportunities for nurses to continue their lifelong learning through pertinent studies that expand knowledge and deepen understanding of various areas of nursing practice.

Applicants for each position should hold a graduate degree in nursing or a related field, doctoral preparation preferred.

Each position requires expertise in an area of nursing practice, and a successful record of, or additional education in, teaching in nursing.

A developed, or developing, program of related research or scholarly activity is preferred.

Applicants should demonstrate their passion for excellence in undergraduate nursing education, building future nursing leaders, and have notable curriculum development experience in nursing or health-related education.

Applicants are collaborative team members and demonstrate a strong commitment to service within their respective roles.

Applicants are also curious and able to collaborate with others to envision and implement an innovative approach to undergraduate nursing education.
