Program Assistant - Administration (HIA)

Purpose
The Hearts in Action Program Assistant (Administration) will report to the Program Supervisor.

The role is responsible for providing administrative support for day to day operations which includes documentation, filing, data entry, reporting on KPI's, and ongoing communication internally and externally on behalf of AdaptAbilities.

They are integral to the success of the program by providing valuable support to families, Community Specialists, and ultimately furthering the organizational vision.

The conscientious Program Assistant will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.

Key Functions

  • Provides administrative and program support to Hearts in Action Team, including but not limited to data entry, documentation management, scheduling, weekly reporting, and internal and external communication with parents/guardians or stakeholders
  • Edit and create forms, reports and documentation processes for use in Programs
  • Prepare summer camp supplies including but not limited to supplies shopping and inventorying recreation, arts, and program supplies
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, with flexibility managing competing departmental demands
  • Communicate effectively with integrity to individuals, families and coworkers
  • Perform other jobrelated activities, as required

Qualifications:


  • Enrollment in a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Human Services, Business Administration and/or related field
  • 23 years' experience in related field, with one year administrative experience
  • Experience working with children, teens, and adults with disabilities is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving abilities
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position from May 23, 2023 to September 1, 2023. Shifts are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.

International students are not eligible.
Compensation


Hourly Rate:
$18.39 to $19.47 per hour, depending on experience
