The Research Coordinator, is a member of the orthopaedic research team which includes clinicians, nurses, and research methodologists.The Research Coordinator applies specialized knowledge to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Data collection for a Health Canada regulated clinical trial
- Manage all research study procedures (phlebotomy, ECG, vitals etc), patient and study procedure scheduling and study documents
- Data entry
- Reporting to industry sponsors
- Ensure that all clinical and research materials are handled according to Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and Privacy Legislation
Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience
Hours of Work:
up to 37.5 hours per week
Duration:
One year
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Health Science or related field
- Phlebotomy Certification (required)
- Previous experience in a health care setting preferred, preferably in a research environment
- Three years of clinical research experience
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with data acquisition and computerized data entry
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstration of knowledge of GCP guidelines and best practices for study documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member when liaising with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
