Lawson Health Research Institute (Lawson) is the research institute of London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care London.

The Research Coordinator, is a member of the orthopaedic research team which includes clinicians, nurses, and research methodologists.

The Research Coordinator applies specialized knowledge to carry out the following responsibilities:


  • Data collection for a Health Canada regulated clinical trial
  • Manage all research study procedures (phlebotomy, ECG, vitals etc), patient and study procedure scheduling and study documents
  • Data entry
  • Reporting to industry sponsors
  • Ensure that all clinical and research materials are handled according to Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and Privacy Legislation

Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience


Hours of Work:
up to 37.5 hours per week


Duration:
One year


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Health Science or related field
  • Phlebotomy Certification (required)
  • Previous experience in a health care setting preferred, preferably in a research environment
  • Three years of clinical research experience
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with data acquisition and computerized data entry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstration of knowledge of GCP guidelines and best practices for study documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member when liaising with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
