- Has demonstrated the capability to manage medium to large construction projects of average to high complexity.
- Acts as one of the company's prime contacts with the client and is responsible for overall construction work progress and technical performance on the project.
- Works closely with the sector's construction management and project delivery leadership who provide oversight and mentoring.
- Capable of developing policies, procedures, and requirements for the programmatic delivery of construction.
- Capable of completing claims analysis and management.
- Has extensive knowledge of linear underground construction including sewers, watermains and misc utilities, including installation of new, rehabilitation of existing, and replacement of existing.
- Knowledgeable with procedures and requirements for construction in Ontario, knowledge of the delivery requirements for the City of Toronto preferred.
- Leads and manages the construction project team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the contract documents.
- Leads and manages the program controls processes and procedures for the management of costs, schedule, and quality.
- Oversight activities may include management of construction supervision, field administration, procurement, and field engineering staff.
- Completes the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacob's HS&E, quality, financial, risk management; business and policy expectations are met.
- May play a role in the business development activities leading to the award of the contract. This could include client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, orals presentation, and contract negotiation consistent with established business development processes.
- Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Combination of Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressively more responsible experience preferred (if no Bachelor's degree, then 15 years preferred).
- CCM preferred.
