About this team:

The Planning team is responsible for ensuring financial success of the company.

They work closely with Merchandising to understand new product trends (Merchandising) and regional/climate selling, size trends, and ensures product is sent to the right Distribution Centre.

The team monitors the business on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, understanding changes in trend and reacting to the business to maximize sales and mitigate risk.

The priority is to understand and protect the guest experience, followed by delivering profitable sales growth.


A day in the life:


The Global Merchandise Planner partners with Global Merchants to support the development of financial architecture and global category plans as inputs to Global Line Architecture (Sales, IMU, CC Targets).

This person is responsible for completing the global quantification of the assortment that support departmental/divisional merchandise strategies they own.

The Global Merchandise Planner partners with Global Merchandising to incorporate relevant regional input to build and quantify shell plans and preliminary assortments, supporting both Global and Regional seasonal strategies.

They must collaborate effectively with Global and Regional Planning, Sourcing, Production and the Global Brand Team to bring the product line to life.

The Global Merchandise Planner must also be flexible as the function evolves with new processes, tools and systems.

  • Responsible for developing the longrange plan by class, activity and franchise in partnership with global merchandising and regional merchandise and planning teams
  • Maintain rolling 24 month tops down plans
  • Create the global line architecture targets for sales, stylecolour count and IMU in partnership with global merchandising and sourcing
  • Quantify stylecolour unit projections for global line plans, capturing anticipated demand from the regions and merchant vision and in line with global purchase unit targets
  • Maintain rolling 24 month demand plan, incorporating current OO, projected units already in line plans and projected units for future season
  • Prepare hindsighting with analytical insights to inform global line plan

Qualifications:


  • College certificate or University degree is required, preferably in Commerce or Business Administration
  • 58 Years of Planning experience or progressive financial analysis and reporting experience
  • Expert knowledge of Excel is required
  • Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal) & extremely organized, thorough and able to prioritize
  • Detail orientated & analytical
  • Results oriented strong sense of motivation
  • Self directed problem solver, proactive and resourceful
  • Capable of effective multiple demand management from a variety of sources and adapts well to change.
  • Ability and willingness to accept and provide feedback.
