CRITERIA FOR AN INTERVIEW:
2-year College Diploma in Business, Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of two (2) years related experience in asset management with experience administering contracts and analytical reports
Knowledge and experience with reviewing, explaining, and managing assets, service contracts, and vendor relationships
Knowledge and experience developing procurement documents for IT assets and/or services (RFP/RFQ, etc.) and working within public sector procurements practices
Highly analytical and data-driven problem solver with the ability to develop solutions and options to complex problems
Excellent written, verbal communication skills and presentations skills
Experience with process improvement initiatives
Exceptionally well organized with a keen attention to detail
Experience with common IT asset management software and discovery tools (ServiceNow, Ivanti, BMC, etc.) an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office suites (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, etc.) and highly advanced skills using Microsoft Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, Formatting, Data Tools, etc.)
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor, IT Office Services, this position will support the ICT Services Division by providing analytical expertise and planning, by offering informed insight on short and long-term organizational goals, for both hardware and software assets throughout the system.
Maintain all IT asset processes and procedures in the organization by utilizing modern IT asset Management systems;
Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that drive strategic decision-making;
Develop and maintain tracking and inventory practices, processes, and procedures for IT equipment including the procurement of equipment, distribution and deployment, as well as equipment collection and disposal;
Consistently seek out and identify opportunities to leverage data to improve processes in IT assets management across the organization;
Work alongside various departments to provide assistance in automating inventory processes when new assets are procured, lost, stolen, require disposal or returned at end of employment;
Perform organizational and administrative tasks related to projects including the procurement of software and hardware, reviewing contracts and tender documents, contract administration, and maintaining software licensing;
Evaluate vendor options and software licensing models to reduce overhead costs;
Assist the ICT Senior Leadership team in navigating, researching, and recommending changes in licensing types (named licensing vs serial licensing vs shared licensing), weighing the pros/cons, costs, and planning;
Maintain professional and technical knowledge on the latest issues affecting software and hardware assessment;
Supervision duties as assigned or required;
Perform other duties as assigned or required;
Note:
This position requires travelling to TCDSB sites on an occasional basis. The incumbent must have own vehicle available to use and a valid Ontario driver's license (eligibility for mileage reimbursement)
