As an Associate, Transactions [Due Diligence] your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for financial and corporate strategic buyers from a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, food & beverage, technology, business services, etc.
  • Prepare Microsoft Excel based Analysis Packs (also referred to as Databooks) including preparing data (general ledgers, trial balances, and sales data), performing reconciliations, and ensuring integrity of data
  • Undertake data analytics (using Analysis Pack, Tableau and other analytic software) to support quantification of transaction metrics (Adjusted EBITDA, Adjusted Working Capital, Net Debt, etc.) and derive insights on key trends and drivers of financial performance
  • Actively participate in client meetings and site visits with owners and key executives to gather financial information and insights
  • Prepare dashboards, presentations, and write financial due diligence reports containing insightful analysis to support users of financial diligence report (clients, potential buyers, lenders and other decision makers) in making decisions with respect to the transaction and posttransaction integration
  • Identifying patterns and trends in data and making recommendations for improvement
  • Proactive, timely and collaborative communication to gather information and project management with deal team members including colleagues, clients, targets and other deal participants
  • Involvement in other Transaction engagements and group administrative duties including but not limited to preparation of engagement letters, presentations for prospective clients, project management, etc.

Think you've got what it takes to be an Associate, Transactions [Due Diligence]? Like the colour purple? Great.

Here's a few more boxes we're also hoping you can tick
:


  • A CPA designation or close to achieving a CPA designation (have achieved all assurance & tax hours)
  • 1+ years' experience involving analysis of financial statements or other financial information, including financial modeling with Excel
  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or business with a concentration in finance or accounting
  • Proven track record of high academic achievement
  • Experience working with tools such as SQL, Python, R, Alteryx and Tableau
  • Have a good understanding of statistical methods and techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, and time series analysis would be considered an asset
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling purposes
  • Detail oriented in working with large data sets and through reconciliations and preparation of financial information
  • Be able to analyze and interpret data and present findings in a clear and concise manner. Also be able to identify patterns and trends in data
  • Strong business writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, yet works comfortably as part of a larger team
  • Possesses confidence, ability, and initiative to support the development of external relationships through networking and meeting with all levels of management and centers of influence
