We currently have an opportunity for a
Lab Operations Analyst in our Winnipeg soil laboratory.

In this role you will assist in the development of new and existing laboratory tools, systems, and processes, and support daily lab operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Track, manage, and develop lab operations key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with Lean operations best practices
Maintain existing and develop new lab IT infrastructure and assist in the development of novel projects
Identify opportunities to improve lab operations workflow through IT ecosystem improvements
Collect client samples to analyze according to the Lab Information Management System (LIMS) generated batch sheet
Perform sample analyses and document test methods and results in LIMS
Assist with regular equipment maintenance and communicates equipment needs to lab leadership
Maintain a safe, clean and contaminate free work environment
Forecast and submit lab supply requests in accordance with future production schedules
Train and assist staff in completing their daily tasks

This role could be a good fit for you if you have:

A technical diploma, or other post-secondary education in a scientific or computer science related field
Previous experience in a lab like environment will be an asset
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean operation best practices
Working knowledge of:
Python, JS, HTML or other objectoriented programming language
PostgreSQL/MySQL, or another SQL derivative
Access VBA or other Visual Basic
Version control tools (e.g Git)
Linux Systems (e.g Ubuntu)
