As a key member of the Disability Leadership team, the
AVP Disability Transformation will partner closely with the VP Life & Disability and the entire Disability Leadership team in developing strategies and is accountable to implement the actions that will transform the business and drive the strategy forward.

This role requires a deep understanding of the Disability environment and a highly collaborative leader with proven capability in removing barriers and influencing collaborators to ensure business objectives are met.

They also need to anticipate, monitor, and proactively pivot their approach to developing trends that affect the business model. This includes awareness of technology, third-party providers, regulatory developments, and competitor actions.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP Life & Disability on the development of Disability strategy and action plans to evolve the ways in which we service our customers and their employees, while equipping our employees with the tools to deliver best in class service
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, governance, metrics, KPI's, and transparency of operations to stakeholders.
  • Help to identify operational changes required to support business priorities and strategies and develop/execute activities to effectively support Disability initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a highperforming team through ongoing coaching, engagement, and development of team members (direct and indirect)
  • Provide direction and oversight on the transformation and continuous improvement of our Disability operations to mitigate risk, drive cost efficiencies, improve the customer experience and deliver improved health outcomes for our customers
  • Organized, selfdirected, efficient, and able to manage complex projects in an agile framework

What we are looking for

  • Relevant university education, healthcare background considered an asset
  • 10+ years of experience working in large, complex, national operational environment
  • Knowledge of Insurance, Group Benefits and Health is an asset
  • Highly developed collaboration, communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to lead large scale, complex and fast paced initiatives during periods of significant change
  • Wellversed in crafting a strategic vision for the future of our Disability organization
  • Strong business insight with experience in leading risk, training, and/or internal consultants
  • Ability to work optimally within a geographically dispersed team and leverage knowledge across the organization.
  • Bilingual (French & English) is an asset
