At our
Cambridge Facility, we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense and off-road equipment companies.
We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, assembly departments and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.
We are looking for a
Painter/ Prep who will be responsible for cleaning and painting subcomponents for heavy O/E trucks used in the mining, forestry and/or agricultural industry.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure work procedures are being strictly adhered to
- Advise Lead Hand/Senior Painter of any and all
- Inspect equipment for cleanliness and damage
- Clean, wash, and sanding of parts to remove corrosion
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints according to a predetermined formula or customer specifications.
- Operate handheld spray gun to spray paint or coat stationary items with a protective coating in spray booth.
- Ensure painted surfaces meet Quality Standards, Customer Standards, and Paint Manufacture requirements to meet all Warranty Standards
- Maintain clean, orderly work areas — daily 5S
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety regulations and Company Policies & Procedures
Physical Demands
- Lifting & carrying up to 28kg. — mínimal up to 6X per day (paint cans)
- Repetitive gripping of hands/fingers with air paint guns, putty knives, wire brushes and other air tools
- Employee must wear the PPE supplied, e.g. paint masks, gloves, coveralls, glasses, and work boots
Working Conditions
- The environment may contain Weld fumes/flashes, dust, vapours, smoke, metal shavings Exposure to paint and thinner fumes
- Exposure to various environmental elements: (heat or cold)
- Work may be situated inside or outside the plant depending on requirements and size of project
