Position Responsibilities

  • Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is seeking 3
    ONCAMPUS
  • Sessional instructors in the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) program. As an instructor you will draw upon your experience in early childhood education and a variety of resources to teach both certificate and diplomalevel courses. This work will occur on RDP's main campus and possibly in an online environment. Instructional times are dependent on assigned workload.

Early Learning and Child Care

Bachelor of Education

Educational Assistant

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline
  • A minimum of five (5) years of fulltime experience working in a variety of early childhood program environments for children (birth to age 8), such as day care, preschool, or schoolage care
  • Demonstrated awareness/knowledge of the document: "Flight: Alberta's Early Learning Framework"
  • A willingness to teach
    oncampus multiple days per week each term
  • Demonstrated evidence of working in a Collaborative setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related field
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience or similar experience teaching adult learners
  • Experience teaching in an oncampus classroom learning environment
  • Familiarity using Blackboard as a Learning Management System
  • Experience teaching adult English language learners
