GFL is looking for experienced Yard Supervisor to join our team in our Portable Restroom & Temporary Fencing Division.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the staff and keep track of daily performance.
Organize and assign tasks to workers. Give a precise division of responsibilities to workers.
Continuously assess worker performance and find opportunities for improvement.
Establish and maintain GFL culture of 'Save for Life' and ensure workers performance is in line with expectations.
Provide on-the-job training and mentor employees.
Intervene and train employees on policies and procedures.
Organize and plan big events while maintaining strict deadlines.
Delivery, pickup, and installation of temporary fences or restrooms
Using a forklift or a Moffit to move assets.

Order Supplies and monitoring the supplies stock everyday to ensure smooth delivery of supplies to office staff and those in need.

As per company policies, the supervisor is expected to keep track of bill payment, receipts and purchases.
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform all duties required.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Physical/Mental Demands:


  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste and smell.
  • Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:


  • Work in outdoor environment 70% of the time.
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.
  • Occasionally work in high precarious places.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
