Melville School of Business


Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Melville School of Business is one of the largest undergraduate business schools in Western Canada—consisting of over 250 business faculty, 3,500 full-time students, and 9,000 students enrolled annually in one of 22 programs.


Awarded the prestigious international accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), KPU's Melville School meets the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP and stands as one of the few internationally accredited business schools in the province of British Columbia.


The Melville School's Accounting Department offers an Accounting Certificate, Accounting Diploma, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Degree and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting.

The Accounting Program is articulated with the CPA Western School of Business, allowing degree and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma graduates to pursue their Accounting designation following graduation.

The Accounting Department has approximately 40 full-time faculty members committed to teaching excellence, service to the university, and scholarship. Mentoring is provided for new faculty members.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The ability to teach using both online and in-person delivery modes in various areas of Accounting is required. Areas of Accounting taught at KPU include

  • Financial and Managerial Accounting
  • Finance
  • Taxation
  • Audit
Advanced Financial Modeling (Data Analytics in Accounting)

  • Expertise in Data analytics in Accounting will be considered favourably.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications to teach in our accounting programs include:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred
  • A Canadian professional accounting or finance designation: CPA CA, CPA CGA, CPA CMA or CFA
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting work experience at the organizational (managerial) impact level
