Applications are invited for the position of Case Facilitator in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SRRO), located at the Daniel J.

Patterson and the Welland Campus. The salary range is $66,909 to $83,635 per annum for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive and respond to student referrals to SRRO that require immediate response, triage or additional referral.
  • Receive and track reports related to student wellbeing and advocacy needs, which may include housing concerns, worrisome behaviour, mental health concerns, navigating complaint processes, food insecurity etc.
  • Initial triage and information gathering for students reporting harassment and discrimination under the College's policy.
  • Maintain a record and database of all activity, ensuring best practice standards are used in accordance with PHIPPA and FIPPA.
  • Assist in ensuring College compliance with legislation through policy review, documentation review, and process review while staying current on legislation changes and updates.
  • Coordination of cases/referrals to the College's Behavioural Intervention Team (BIT).
  • Networking and communicating with external partners to best support student care including parents, police, hospital, and mental health agencies/supports.
  • Monitoring student progress and following up with internal and external stakeholders regarding recommended interventions.

Qualifications:


  • Three (3) year degree or diploma in social work, psychology, child and youth studies, social science or related field of study.
  • Masters degree an asset.
  • Three (3) years experience in case management or case facilitation in a similar environment (interdisciplinary and risk mitigation focused).
  • Certification in threat and risk assessment tools commonly used in post secondary environments an asset.
  • Knowledge of community supports/services.
  • ASIST or other mental health/suicide crisis response training an asset.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and deescalation techniques.
  • High level of attention and detail is required.
  • Ability to take direction, handle stressful situations, and use discretion in situations that are ambiguous.
  • Ability to multitask based on priority and/or risk.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
