What can I expect to do in this role?:

Reporting to the Legal Director, in this role you will:

Provide legal advice on a broad range of issues including drafting and interpreting commercial agreements
Assist internal OCWA client groups with identifying legal risks associated with the Agency's business
Negotiate agreements with the Agency's municipal and industrial clients, preparing/advising on Request for Proposals/Request for Tenders / Request for Quotations and providing general legal advice on contracts, insurance, procurement issues
Educate internal client groups on various legal issues, including the implication of new legislation

How do I qualify?:

Mandatory:

Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of and expertise in corporate commercial law and commercial transactions, contract drafting and procurement law, risk management
Understanding of the Agency's regulatory environment
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fastpaced operational environment that is highly regulated
Computer and independent research skills
