Clerical Support Associate to join our Oncology
team.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for clerical support including patient registration, booking/editing of appointments, and maintenance of patient records with adherence to registration standards and data quality.
  • Responsible for completion of message and tasks from Physicians and other members of the interprofessional team using Meditech Oncology module system.
  • Responsible for providing customer service including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors, and communication of registration and appointment activities to both patients and their healthcare providers.
  • Communicates registration information with both internal and external departments and service areas to facilitate appointments
  • Supports care team members in data collection processes required by Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • Minimum 2 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required, preferably in an ambulatory oncology setting.
  • Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Meditech's Oncology Module and Community Wide Scheduling experience is preferred
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload. Demonstrated ability to cope with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions and emergency situations
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a team environment
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
  • Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, to include typing speed and MS Office.
