About Our Opportunity
Primary Accountabilities
- Ensure the effective management of human and financial resources by setting and evaluating staff performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy, respectful workplace, demonstrating the leadership competencies, respecting corporate human resources practices, promoting teamwork and individual development, maintaining internal communication, monitoring revenues and expenditures, adhering to procurement guidelines, acquiring goods and services in the most cost effective manner, and accurately forecasting budget requirements for the fiscal year.
- Maintain client service excellence and foster client engagement by adhering to and ensuring tenant engagement initiatives are met, maintaining aesthetic property upkeep both internally and externally, soliciting and managing client requests and expectations, exchanging in respectful and timely communications, and forging professional and respectful relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure unit vacancy rates and unit turnaround processes are completed within identified targets by consistent monitoring, performance managing, implementing, and communicating expectations, bringing forward recommendations for process improvement and working collaboratively with the maintenance team.
- Accountable for full compliance with fire safety standards by ensuring emergency preparedness plans, resident assessments and tenant information materials are up to date; and residents are trained in emergency procedures.
- Manage portfolio budget by remaining within approved spending revenues and arrears targets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postsecondary education in related field, with a Degree/Diploma desired, including experience in leading and/or coordinating teams.
- Knowledge of relevant acts and legislation such as Workers' Compensation, the Occupational Health, and Safety Act, as well as appropriate fire regulations.
- Understanding of budgets and financial statements.
- Competency in desktop software including Microsoft Office.
- Dependable and consistently delivers high quality, professional service.
- Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve desired outcomes that support organizational objectives.
- Identifies, assesses, and manages risk while promoting a proactive safety conscious culture.
- Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes.
Assets
- Supervisory experience with diverse employee groups, including nonunionized and unionized staff.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Knowledge of various government assistance programs, such as Old Age Pension, Canada Pension, Income Assistance, Service for Persons with Disabilities, Adult Supports, Employment Insurance, Department of Health for Pharmacare, and Caregiver Programs, etc.
- Yardi Property Management software experience

Salary Range:
$53,150.77 to $88,040.09 yearly
Work Week: 35 hours (occasionally overtime may be required)
