What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of frameworks and tactics that influence best practice and culture change across the Ontario Public Service Agencies, vendors and Corrections to drive the implementation of an integrated public sector supply chain that minimizes employee and key stakeholder resistance.
  • Design, develop, and implement communications strategies and engagement plans that help clients/users to navigate and understand the significant business process changes that will transform the organization's procurement system, policies and practices.
  • Develop actionable deliverables for change management levers including: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, and resistance management plan utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to project colleagues to ensure consistent messaging to promote changes to programs, processes, policies and best practices in procurement.
  • Provide team leadership to assigned project staff, including determining priorities, assigning work, monitoring work quality/progress, and providing technical guidance and solutions.
  • Lead consultations, focus groups, workshops, presentations and meetings with staff and executives to drive faster adoption of change, improved system utilization and greater proficiency of the changes to ensure mínimal business disruptions.

How do I qualify?:


Change Management and Strategic Communications Expertise:

  • You have knowledge of change management theories, methodologies, best practices, tools and techniques including Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • You have knowledge of public and private sector procurement principles, methods and practices, supply chain management, related legislation, policies, and directives
  • You know principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques of strategic communications and engagement solutions

Interpersonal and Influencing Skills:


  • You can build rapport and credibility as an agent of change and establish a trusted advisor/partner relationship across the public sector
  • You can engage various business stakeholders, provide explanations for change strategies and convince stakeholders who may have opposing procurement needs, unique issues, and objectives to agree on accepting the change strategy
  • You can provide advice and guidance at the project startup phase on appropriate change management approaches to drive faster adoption

Analyzing and Problem Solving Skills:


  • You can identify issues and opportunities to improve or develop new strategies and change management approaches based on organizational readiness assessments, challenges and risks
  • You can identify, assess and prioritize risks forming part of change activities and provide recommendations, solutions and/or approaches to ensure successful acceptance of changes

Decision Making and Responsibility:


  • You can facilitate and help clients and users navigate, understand the use and accept significant business process changes that will transform the province's procurement system, policies and practices
  • You can conduct key stakeholder analysis to increase support and assess interest and position relating to the implementation of supply chain centralization
  • You can identify resistance and working to develop and implement corrective actions plans

Computer Skills:


  • You can create analytical reports, stakeholder communication material, presentation and briefing material and correspondence
