Job Overview
The Sales Representative serves as an integral part of the sales team.

This position provides service across all product lines within the organization and is accountable to sales growth of Scepter products for both new and existing customers.

The Sales Representative also provides integrated solutions to customers and achieves the highest levels of customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:


  • Performs roles of customer data reporting and analysis expert, inside sales, customer service and project leader for the consumer, marine & custom molding business.
  • Reviews customers' unique situations and demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge to influence customer decisions so that Myers is the preferred solution/category manager.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to sales strategy discussions relevant to pricing and forecasting.
  • Analyze inventory levels and make recommendations to internal buying team while developing intimate working relationships with merchandising and supply chain teams at retail customers to become a trusted advisor.
  • Consults with existing and potential clients to assess and understand needs and requirements.
  • Assists with the drafting of presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
  • Assists with reporting and approvals for accruals, pricing, customer fines, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc.
  • Attend trade shows and seminars to promote Scepter products and learn about industry developments.
  • Drives coordination and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders: Customers/Targets, Engineering, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounting, Sales, Marketing, and other business units within Myers Industries to meet or exceed both internal and external commitments, including improving the overall customer experience.
  • Pursues avenues of new business and expanding existing customer product portfolios through highly engaged data analysis via customer portals.
  • Communicates with clients on new products and services, and price adjustments; conducts periodic and regular surveys of customers to determine satisfaction and crossselling opportunities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and factbased planning skills required.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to complete reporting, analyze, summarize, and communicate overviews and action plans to audiences at all leadership levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to ~25% of time, within North America.
  • Must be able to complete store walks and comp shops in field (ongoing).
  • Proven competency within the home improvement industry, reporting and sales experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong business relationships with trade customers, channel partners and peers.
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of related customer data analysis, sales, project management, and customer service required; experience within a manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Professional experience with retail/big box customer channels and requirements, including customer needs assessment, sales plan development, pipeline development, and territory growth is required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Software.
  • Experience with SyteLine ERP system, and Power BI reporting is preferred.
  • Planogramming (POG) design and retail category management experience are a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to ~25% of time, within North America.
  • Expertise in item setup and online content management is required.
  • Experience interacting with ratings and reviews and with Bazaarvoice preferred.
  • Disciplined and effective use of CRM required.
